The 1947 40-day procession of the pilgrim statue of Our Lady of the Cape began at Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Canada's National Marian Shrine, on May 1st in advance of the June Marian Congress held in the nation's capital; the congress where the Dominion of Canada was consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
